Snap It! Guidelines

SNAP IT! Photography Competition Terms and Conditions

SNAP IT! is designed to bring attention to the beauty of Henry County and to the talented photographers who enter the competition.

1. The SNAP IT! competition is open Monday – Friday to all amateur photographers of any age, locals and visitors, alike.

2. All photos must be horizontal.

3. All photographs entered in SNAP IT! must be taken within the borders of Henry County and entered in the described time period.

4. Entries should be submitted by email to snapit@myparismagazine.com with “Snap It!” in the subject line. Emailed entries must be labeled with the entrant’s name and image files should be sent from your camera with no size changes or other alterations or enhancements. Entrants should include their name, address and email address. Please include a sentence describing the scene, as well as the physical address where the photo was taken plus the date it was taken. (For example, “There was ice on the berries on the corner of Walnut and Ogburn Streets in Paris on December 16, 2008.”) MyParisMagazine.com reserves the right to edit descriptions.

5. To protect the photographers’ work, winning photos will be displayed online at a resolution that can be emailed for viewing, but at a resolution (520 px, 72 dpi) that will be too low for quality reproduction.

6. Photos of identifiable individuals will not be accepted. Photos should be of structures, nature or of individuals who cannot be identified such as those made from behind, from a significant distance or in costume.

7. All entries must be received by 9:00 p.m. and must be taken within the past 24 hours (with the exception of Monday submissions.) Photos for Monday’s competition should be submitted by 9:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon and can include pictures shot over the weekend (9:00 p.m. Thursday through 9:00 p.m. Sunday).

8. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work.

9. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to PARIS! magazine and MyParisMagazine.com to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.

10. Only one entry per person per day. Late, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

11. The winning entry will be that which is judged to be the most visually appealing, original, creative and self-explanatory. The winner will appear the next weekday on MyParisMagazine.com. Daily winners will automatically be archived and entered in the monthly SNAP IT! competition.

12. The winner of the monthly contest will be determined by voting from the viewing public. The winner will be notified within seven days of the closing date of the competition. (For example, all of the daily winners in January will be voted on during the first two weeks of February. The winner will posted on MyParisMagazine.com within one week of the close of the competition.) The winner may pick his/her up prize at Jack Jones Flowers & Gifts in Downtown Paris. From these winners, the best SNAP IT! photo of the year, will be voted upon by viewers annually.

13. Monthly winners will be awarded MyParisMagazine.com – I WON SNAP IT! apparel and may appear on the official PARIS! magazine/MyParisMagazine.com 2010 calendar.

14. The winners may be asked to take part in publicity.

15. The winner’s name, town/state/country, description of scene and physical address where the photo was taken will be displayed next to the photo. No contact information from the photographer will be displayed to the viewing public.

16. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

17. Information detailing competition entry are included as part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence or conversation will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.

18. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of MyParisMagazine.com and may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion; the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to MyParisMagazine.com as a result thereof.

19. MyParisMagazine.com is responsible for the publication and adjudication of the competition, as well as other facilities connected with the provision of the prize.
